Kentucky Derby RESULTS

The Kentucky Derby is widely considered to be the "most exctiting two minutes 
in sports". Run at the illustrious Churchill Downs on the first Saturday in 
May annually, the "run for the roses" lasts a classic distance of a mile and a 
quarter. We have a few contenders this year whom are worthy of the honour of 
"Triple Crown Champion"! 

The Post Positions:

And as the early afternoon heat begins to take place, out eight Derby contenders 
line up for the starting gate! We have some proven stakes winners here today, 
and it will be up to the roses to see who will come out on top... 

Moon Dance Eclips and Madame Toubinkski load like perfect ladies, but Perfect 
Unage is showing a bit of spirit! However, they've coaxed him in now. Better 
Than Gold loads as cool as a cucumber, as does Run for the Money and CJS Purple Heaven. Scorching Might gives a few high-jinks, but nothing much, and L'Ecuruiel goes in like a pro. And theyre off! Its L'Ecuruiel bursting straight to the front, followed by Scorching Might, with Mopon Dance Eclips settling in third as her usual style. CJS Purple Heaven pressures her on her flank, Run for the Money edges on the rail in fifth, and Perfect Unageis firm is sixth. Madame Toubinski seems to have switched her stylr, running back in seventh, with Better Than Gold trailing the pack. 

As they enter the backstretch, Run for the Money makes an early bid and snatches 
the lead! Moon Dance Eclips has been set loose but not fill out for second, 
CJS Purple Heaven directly behnd her, L'Ecuruielhas dropped behind, the jockey's 
rating him. Perfect Unage and Better Than Gold are tied for fifth, with Madame 
Toubinski on their outside, and Scorching Might droppng back noticeably. They're 
heading for the far turn now, and L'Ecuruiel has charged to the front again! 
Perfect Unage has left Better Than Gold behind and is in second, and Moon Dane 
Eclips hasnt made her move in third. Run for the Money putting pressure on her 
flank, and Better Than Gold running after them with Scorching Might chasing after. 
Madam Toubinski is still in seventh with CJS Purple Heaven way back. And now she's 
in gear, sweeping past horses with realtive ease, and Madame Toubinski roaring 
after her, and theyre nearing the wire! 

But they can't catch Pefect Unage, who sweeps under the wire with his nose in 
front Perfect Unage has won the Kentucky Derby!
